Horizon View Installation & Configuration - Part 03 - Install Horizon View Composer Server

 

Installation steps View Composer:

1. Log in to HZN7-CMP server. Verify that you have installed .NET 3.5 SP1 and select the file below:


2. Run the VMware-viewcomposer-7.x file.

3. If you get a warning about Windows security-warning message, click Run.

4. Now you should see the Welcome to the installation Wizard for VMware Horizon 7 composer.


5. Your first choice is Next! See the following License Agreement:

 

6. Certainly, someone who is curious up so far chooses I accept the terms in the license agreement and         sets Next. The page that appears about the choice where you want to install the application is                   displayed.

7. Do not miss the default program and click Next. Now you can see the Database Information page:


8. The first thing to do is build ODBC DSN so you can connect to the View Composer database.

9. Click on ODBC DSN Setup ... (1). Related page ODBC Data Source Administrator (64-bit) is                displayed.

 

10. Click the System DSN tab (2), and then click the Add ... button (3)

11. The Create New Data area appears to you, select the SQL Server Native Client 11.0 option (4) and          click the Finish button.

12. Enter the Create a New Data Source to SQL section:

13. In the name field (5) we select a name for this data source. In this example, our preferred name is            viewcomposer.

14. In the server field, use the drop-down to select the available SQL server that we want to connect to. Here is
       HZN-CMPSQLEXPRESS.

15. Click the Next button.

16. Enter the authentication information.

17. First, select the option with SQL Server authentication using the login ID and password entered by the user (7) and in the Login ID field (8) enter the login information that is to be logged in. In our example, User is logging in to SQL user. Lastly, in the password field, enter the password for assigned SQL user (9).

18. Click the Next button.

19. In the next section configuration, you need to change the default database into the View Composer database.

20. Click the Change the default database to tick (10) and select the viewcomposer below (11).

21. Next click. At the end, your settings should look something like the following:

22. Click the Finish button.

23. To ensure that the settings are correct, you need to test it.

24. Click the Test Data Source button ... (12)

25. A result like the following picture should appear to you.

 

26. By pressing the OK button the test result is closed. (13)

27. OK to close the Microsoft SQL Server Setup ODBC box.

28. Return to ODBC Data Source Administration page. Now the DSN of the connection you are building is displayed to you.

29. By clicking the OK button, the ODBC Data Source Administrator window is closed and the page for the View Composer installation and the Database Information settings is displayed.

30. In the first field, enter the viewcomposer (15) and enter the username in the username (16) and enter the passwords for the passwords that you have selected for SQL user. (17)

31. Click the Next button.

32. On the VMware Horizon 7 Composer Port Setting page, set the SOAP Port section as the default.

33. SOAP, which stands for the Simple Object Access Protocol, is a port that is used by the View to communicate with Composer via an XML file. It is recommended to make the settings of this section by default and make no changes. Select Next.

34. The Ready to Install the Program page is displayed.

35. Click Install very easily.

36. Upon completion of the installation process, the Installer Install Completed window will be displayed to you.

37. Like installing all other software, the Finish button is the end of the story! Press it.

If you encounter any problems or problems during the installation process for any reason, you can read the relevant logs through the following address and take the necessary steps to fix the problem.

% TEMP% vminst.log_date_timestamp.

Note that the MSI logs made in the following folder are visible:

% TEMP% vmmsi.log_date_timestamp.

 

1. The virtual machine restart message is displayed. By pressing the yes button, your server will be restarted.

2. When the View Composer server is restarted, check that the corresponding service is started in accordance with the following image:

 

We can now declare that View Composer is properly installed on the server.
