Install View Connection Server:
The view connection server and its other rolls (Security, Replica, etc.)
are installed on the dedicated server. The screen shot below lists the
essential requirements for you when building a Connection Server.
The next step is to setup and configure the View Connection Server in
the test environment. For the first instance of the Connection Server, install
it on a virtual machine named HZN7-CS1 and consider a static IP address for it.
Also, do not forget that this machine should be in the domain join.
1. Take the console from the HZN7-CS1 virtual machine and go to the
Horizon view install file. In our example is located in the shared folder below:
2. Run VMware-viewconnectionserver-x86_64-7.x file.
3. If the Windows security warning message appears, click Run.
4. Now you can see the Welcome to the Installation Wizard for VMware Horizon 7 Connection Server page.
5. Start by pressing the Next button> Installation. In the next step,
you will see the License Agreement page.
6. Click I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click
Next>. Now you have to decide where to install the application.
7. Do not touch the default settings and click the Next button. You will
see the Installation Option page.
8. This server is your first View Connection, select the available Rolls
of Horizon 7 Standard Server option (1).
9. We are also considering installing HTML access, so check the Install
HTML option (2). This feature allows users to connect to their desktops via the Blast
protocol using their HTML5 browsers. The next section on this page is IP
protocol selection. As previously stated, only one item
can be selected between IPv4 and IPv6. We select IPv4 in our testing
environment (3).
10. After completing the settings, click Next>.
11. The Data Recovery page appears to you.
12. The Data Recovery page requires a password to be considered. This
section is used to back up the View Connection Server. Type a password in this
section and type it in the Re-enter password field. Finally, in the password
reminder field, enter a text to remember the
password.
13. Click Next > to enter the next step.
14. Enter the Firewall Configuration page as shown below.
15. Select Configure Windows Firewall automatically, then click Next:
Note that Windows Firewall is one of Horizon View's essentials,
especially for server security with Server Connection. The Windows Firewall on
the View Server under no circumstances should be disabled. It is recommended
that the Windows Firewall be configured automatically and note the ports used.
16. You are now logged in to the Initial Horizon 7 Administrator page.
17. In this section, specify which user on the domain or on the local
server is allowed to connect to the View server for the first time and perform the initial
settings.
18. In this example, we use the standard administrator account. However,
it is recommended that a specific user or group be created.
19. Select the Authorize a specific domain user or group option, and
then specify the domain name and user name.
20. Click Next to continue. The User Experience Improvement Program
section is displayed.
21. The User Experience Improvement Program is an optional condition
that anyone can submit their status and statistics to their VMware application. Be sure
that License Status is not reviewed! For this example, (4). Tick this option
22. Click the Next button.
23. In the next section, we'll go to the Ready to Install the Program
page.
24. Click the Install button to begin the installation process.
25. When the installation process finishes, the Completed Installer
screen is displayed.
If for any reason the installation process is encountered an error, the
installation log is maintained at the following address:
% TEMP% vminst.log_date_timestamp.
MSI logs are also available at the following address:
% TEMP% vmmsi.log_date_timestamp.

27. At the end, press the Finish button to finish everything.
An icon similar to the one below appears on the desktop. This icon,
called Horizon 7 Administrator Console, will bring you into a new world.
